Welcome to my site!

My name is Benjamin Cheung, and I am a Lecturer at the University of British Columbia in Beautiful British Columbia. I teach a variety of courses encompassing research methods, social psychology, and cultural psychology.

My primary interest is in teaching, and I am fortunate enough to be working with many others in our department who work hard to advance undergraduate education so that all students can be proud of receiving their psychology degree at UBC.

I completed my Ph.D. studies in 2016 under the tutelage of Dr. Steven Heine, with my research addressing a wide variety of questions about human psychology including how culture affects our behavior, and how our (often incomplete/inaccurate) understanding of genes biases the ways we think and act.

If you’d like to know me better as an educator, I encourage you to take a look at this page from the Department of Psychology!

Please look around my website, and feel free to contact me.
